Richmond, KY, July 22, 2014 – Richmond Raceway Promoters are grateful to all the fans, racers and employees that made our last Butterball™ a memorable one.  The racing was great, the fans had fun and the employees ran a program second to none.  Thank you everyone.

With the Madison County Fair Grounds running mud runs and the current weather forecast for Saturday, officials at Richmond Raceway have decided to cancel this weekends race.  Fan Appreciation will be rescheduled for Saturday, August 23 during the Inaugural $2930 to win B.O.S.S. Battle of Richmond.

The next event held at the track will be the 5th Annual $1500 to win Sportsman Nationals on August 2.  If you haven’t seen the recent racing in the Sportsman Division then you are missing some of the best racing this year.  These guys are sure to put on an even better show running for the highest purse Richmond Raceway has ever paid in this division. Sportsman drivers you will have a $50 entry fee for your $1500 to win race.

Along with the Sportsman Nationals, Kids Extravaganza will also be taking place.  Kids be sure to wear your running shoes on August 2.  Kids ages 5-10 will have foot races on the track during intermission.  Prizes and trophies will be given.  Also children under 5 will be able to pick up goodies on the front stretch.  Age appropriate candy and toys will be dropped so they can scramble to fill up their goodie bags.

Gates will open for Sportsman Nationals at 4:30 on the pit side and 6:00 on the grandstand side. Grandstand admission prices are $15 for anyone 13 and over, FREE to 12 and under.  Pit prices are $33 for ages 13 and up, and FREE to kids 12 and under.
