This Friday and Saturday Night Ponderosa Speedway and Richmond Raceway have not only teamed up for a $24,000 racing weekend but we have also teamed up to raise money for the Moore, Oklahoma tornado victims. At intermission on Friday and Saturday Night racers will come thru the stands with their helmets to get any donation people are able to give. We will add together what Ponderosa and Richmond collect and send it to the victims thru an organization known as IDES (International Disaster Emergency Service). This is the same organization the great racers and fans from Richmond sent donations to for the Joplin, Missouri tornado. For more information on this organization visit their website at www.ides.org. Thank you for your generosity in giving.
Richmond, KY – Richmond Raceway Promoters Joey and Tiffany Tackett hope to
present the first full night of racing action this Saturday, May 25 with
the 3rd Annual Rain Dodger 40 paying $3000 to win in the Late Model
Division. Mother nature continues to win most of the races this season
like the Four Cylinder Fury that was set for last Saturday and was
postponed until June 15.
Rain checks from the Four Cylinder Fury will be honored at any race in the
2013 season for face value. Not refunds will be given.
Also in action this Saturday Night is the Tax Wise Open Wheel Modifieds,
Sportsman and Four Cylinders. The drivers that signed in last Saturday
will receive show up points to accumulate with the other points they have
received this season.
There is a change for the drivers this weekend however. All drivers must
be signed in by 6:00 pm. Lineups take a few minutes to verify and print to
have at the drivers meeting so that we can get the show running in a
timely manner. If you are not signed in by 6:00 you will only get
finishing points in a heat race. If heat races for your class has already
began you can start the tail of the feature if there are 20 cars or fewer.
As for the late models this weekend; if you don’t draw before 6:00 you
will only go out to qualify last and will only get one qualifying lap.
Raceceivers are mandatory in all classes. Random tire samples will be
taken from the late model division. All prize money will be held until
results come back from the lab.
Pit gates for the Rain Dodger 40 open at 4:30. Pit admission for adults
