Mother Nature Claims Third Straight Checkered Flag at Richmond Raceway

Richmond, KY(May 20, 2016) Richmond Raceway track promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz absolutely cannot catch a break with what has been an extremely wet weather pattern in Kentucky for most of the month of May as the promotional trio has had to cancel their third straight scheduled event due to Mother Nature.

Heavy rains fell over the track area on late Tuesday and into early Wednesday, which was followed by a nice day of drying on Thursday, but Mother Nature again showed she is not a race fan at the moment as rains began falling around Noon on Friday and have left the track wet and somewhat manageable, but has left the pit area and spectator parking areas once again totally water-logged.  Also, with a chance of showers and gloomy conditions predicted again by midday on Saturday, the Yantz family was left with no other option but to cancel the event.

The next scheduled event now set for Richmond Raceway will take place on Saturday May 28, as it will be Armed Forces and Kid’s Night.  All active and retired military personnel will be admitted FREE with a valid military identification card and kid’s will be eligibile for giveaways and prize drawings, along with foot races on the frontstretch during intermission.  The racing program on Saturday May 28 will feature the American Dirt Allstars sanctioned KDRA Super Stocks in a 30 lap, $1,200 to win event.  Also, on the racing card will be a full racing program for the Sonic Late Models paying $1,500 to win, Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds paying $1,000 to win, Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders paying $500 to win, and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones paying $100 to win.  The $750 to win Four Cylinder special that was scheduled for May 21 will be rescheduled at a later date.

Richmond Raceway is located at 328 Greens Crossing Road, just a short drive from the city limits of Richmond, KY.  Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track racing on Saturday evenings.  For more information about Richmond Raceway, contact track co-promoter Larry Yantz at (606) 510-5331 or track co-promoter Chad Yantz at (606) 510-4836 or by social media on the world wide web at www.richmond-raceway.net or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/308149696058239/ or facebook.com/richraceky of via Twitter @MichaelDespain or @RichmondRaceway.  The phone number at the track for information concerning race events and raceday information is (859) 624-5640.
