Richmond Raceway Back in Action with Saturday Night Showdown/Four Cylinder Fury Saturday June 18

 

Richmond, KY(June 5, 2016) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will have the 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” idle for one more week before returning to action on Saturday June 18 with the rescheduled Saturday Night Showdown for the American Dirt Allstars AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks paying $1,200 to win and Four Cylinder Fury for the Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders that will pay $1,000 to win, plus a full racing program in all other divisions.  

Of note, the track discovered an error in the points tabulation for the Sonic Late Model division and driver Jason Barrett was not credited with the total number of points he should have been listed and after the points were audited this week, the error by the track was found and has been corrected and the correct points are listed at the end of this release.  The track sincerely apologizes for this mistake.

Richmond Raceway will present the Saturday Night Showdown and Four Cylinder Fury on Saturday June 18 as the American Dirt Allstars AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks will compete in the 30 lap, $1,200 to win Saturday Night Showdown feature event, along with the Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders competing in the 25 lap, $1,000 to win Four Cylinder Fury main event.  Also on the Saturday Night Showdown and Four Cylinder Fury racing program at Richmond Raceway on Saturday June 18 will be the Sonic Late Models racing for $1,500 to win in a 25 lap main event and the Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds racing for $1,000 to win in a 20 lap main event, and the Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones will race for $100 to win in a 10 lap feature contest.  All divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions.  Transponders are used for timing/scoring purposes (can be rented at the track) and RACEceivers are also mandatory in all divisions.  All competitors are urged to be at the track and signed-in by 5:30 p.m. as that is when driver registration closes.  Also of note, the three highest finishing drivers that utilize a Crate engine powered car will be eligible for bonuses.  The highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $100 bonus, second highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $75 bonus, and the third highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $50 bonus.  Additionally, there is an entry fee for the American Dirt Allstars event, which is $20 for series members and $30 for series non-members, with the entry fee including the transponder rental fee.  There is NO entry fee for the Stock Four Cylinder portion of the program.

Activities for the Saturday Night Showdown and Four Cylinder Fury at Richmond Raceway on Saturday June 18 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m.  Driver registration will close at 5:30 p.m. and the drivers meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:15 p.m.  Racing is set to take the take the green flag at 7:30 p.m.  All times listed are EDT.  Ticket prices for the Saturday Night Showdown and Four Cylinder Fury at Richmond Raceway on Saturday June 18 in the general admission area will be $18 for adults, with children ages 12 and under admitted FREE.  A pit pass will be $35, children ages 6 to 12 will be $15, and children ages 5 and under are FREE.
