Richmond, KY(April 30, 2016) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz have been forced to postpone the 2nd Annual Saturday Night Showdown racing program scheduled for Saturday April 30, marking the third event the track has lost already this season due to inclement weather. 

Early morning rain showers and the forecast the even more and heavier rains later on during the course of the day on Saturday led track officials to make the postponement decision.  The track is already looking for possible make-up dates and will announce those as soon as they are known.

Richmond Raceway will be closed on Saturday May 7, but will return with racing action on Saturday May 14 as the track will present the 2nd Annual Butch Shay Memorial event.  Late Models will race for $2,100 to win in a 30 lap main event and Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds will also race for $2,100 to win in a 30 lap main event.  Also on the Butch Shay Memorial racing program for Saturday May 14 will be the AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks racing for $750 to win, Stock Four Cylinders racing for $500 to win, and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones racing for $100 to win.  All divisions will utilize the hot lap/time trials combo format for this event to determine heat race starting positions and any Late Model driver that utilizes a Crate powered engine in their car is eligible for bonuses (top finisher get an extra $100, second highest finisher gets an extra $75, and third highest finisher gets an extra $50).  RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and transponders are used for timing and scoring purposes and can be rented at the track.  All drivers are encouraged to be at the track and signed in by 5:30 p.m. and that is when driver registration will close. 

Activities for the 2nd Annual Butch Shay Memorial at Richmond Raceway on Saturday May 14 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m.  The drivers meeting will take place at 5:45 p.m. and practice/time trials will begin at 6:15 p.m. and racing will begin at 7:30 p.m.  Event purses and ticket prices will be announced later this week.   

Richmond Raceway last raced on Saturday April 23 and feature event winners were Johnny Wheeler of Campbellsville, KY in Late Models, Blake Brown of Corbin, KY in Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds, Eddie Stewart of Manchester, KY in AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks, Logan Burke of Drift, KY in Stock Four Cylinders, and Josh Dickerson of Richmond, KY in Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
