Richmond Raceway Revises Pro Late Model Division’s American Racer Tire Rule for 2015

Richmond, KY (March 24, 2015) Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz would like to announce a clarification on the Pro Late Model division tire rule for the upcoming 2015 race season for those drivers that elect to equip their race cars with American Racer brand tires.

The revised ruling will allow racers to run the following American Racer tire compounds at Richmond Raceway in the Pro Late Model division for the 2015 season:  Crate Spec 48 and Crate Spec 56.  In addition, competitors in the Pro Late Model division at Richmond Raceway will also be allowed to compete on the following Hoosier Tire compounds:  FT200, FT400, LSB21, LSB55, Crate 21, Crate 55, LM40, 1640, or SPEC D55.  Depending on the tire brand that racers choose, these tire compounds must be all four corners of the race cars.  Also, the maximum spoiler allowed in the Pro Late Model division will be 8 inches in height.

The Pro Late Model division is not scheduled to be in competition on the following dates during the 2015 race season:  April 18, July 18, September 5, and October 3.  However, the Pro Late Model division cars can compete with the Super Late Model division on these dates only (dates subject to change in case of inclement weather).  In addition, the Pro Late Model competitors can compete on those four dates with the Super Late Model division and use the track’s Pro Late Model division tire rule.

Activities will begin at Richmond Raceway for the 2015 with a pair of Test and Tune Open Practice dates, with the first practice date set for Saturday March 28 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with the second and final practice date set for Saturday evening April 4 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

The track will officially begin its 2015 season of dirt track racing with the “Dawn of New Era” season opener event on Saturday April 11 that will feature Super Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Late Models, KDRA Super Stocks (formerly Sportsman), Four Cylinders, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones all in competition.

Richmond Raceway is located at 328 Greens Crossing Road, just a short drive from the city limits of Richmond, KY.  Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz are the track promoters and will present dirt track racing on Saturday evenings.  For more information about Richmond Raceway, contact track co-promoter Larry Yantz at (606) 510-5331 or track co-promoter Chad Yantz at (606) 510-4836 or by social media on the world wide web at www.richmond-raceway.net or via Facebook at www.facebook.com/groups/308149696058239/ or facebook.com/richraceky of via Twitter @MichaelDespain or @RichmondRaceway.
