Adams and Hensley Saturday Night Showdown Winners at Richmond Raceway

 

Richmond, KY(August 29, 2015) Richmond Raceway would return to action on Saturday evening with the Saturday Night Showdown and Jamey Adams of Laurelville, OH would pick up the $1,000 payday in the American Dirt Allstar sanctioned KDRA Super Stock division and Greg Hensley of Jackson, KY would claim the $500 payday in Four Cylinders.  Other feature event winners included Tommy Bailey of Corbin, KY in Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Realty Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Parksville , KY in REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Models, Jeff Watson of Campbellsville, KY in Modifieds, and Cole Bland of Campbellsville, KY in Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones.

Jamey Adams would lead all 25 laps of the American Dirt Allstars sanctioned KDRA Super Stock main event and would claim the victory his Thomas Gas Service/Helterbran Trucking/Adams Motorsports sponsored #42a machine.  Robby Perkins would take runner-up honors, with Eddie Stewart claiming a third place finish.  Reggie Ritchie and Pherman Stewart would complete the top five.  Rounding out the top ten would be Bartley Grant, Ricky Brandenburg, Chad Barrett, James Crowe, and Glen Hounshell, Jr.  Twenty-nine entries would Robby Perkins as top qualifier at 17.472, with Perkins, Adams, and Bretz claiming heat race victories, while Glen Branham won the B-Main.

Tommy Bailey would go flag-to-flag to score his first Barry Turner of Century 21 Advantage Super Late Model feature win of the season aboard his Dependable Auto Sales/Tommy’s Auto Repair/Mills Auto Mart/West Haven Speed Equipment/Barton Storage Buildings sponsored #11 Rocket Chassis with a Bullock Race Engine.  Thirteen entries would see Bailey also be the top qualifier at 15.249 seconds and win a heat, while Jason Barrett won the other heat.

Greg Hensley would survive a late-race skirmish to score the Four Cylinder division in the seat of his Hensley’s Garage sponsored #00 Ford Mustang.  Stacy Harrison and Thomas Scenters would finish second and third respectively, with Ronnie Romines and Bill Taulbee rounding out the top five.  Completing the top ten would be Jacob Taulbee, Andy Newton, Alan Wayne Helton, Tyler Patterson, and Jameson Gipson.  Seventeen entries would see Jeremie Bretz as top qualifier at 19.767 seconds and win a heat, while Dave McCarty scored the other heat victory.

Todd Coffman would never be seriously challenged in scoring the REVELution Race Cars Pro Late Model feature contest behind the wheel of the Sharon Coffman owned Auto Connection/Self Service Storage/Coffman Photography/Todd’s Body Shop/Heritage Closing/Harrod Farms sponsored #35.  Jake Henry would take runner-up honors, while Dustin Linville completed the podium finishers, while Brian Royalty and Wesley Ball rounding out the top five.  Completing the top ten would be Chad Spradlin, Chris Johnson, Perry Barnhardt, Chris Fair, and Greg Coulton.  Eleven entries would see Coffman as top qualifier at 16.258 seconds and also winning a heat, with Jake Henry the other heat race winner.

The Modified feature would be a caution filled affair, with Jeff Watson coming out on top of the heat and claiming the win in the seat of the Matthew and Kenneth Jordan owned Kevin Crutchfield Roofing/Diamond Auto Collison/Himes Auto Body/Atlas Contracting/Lancaster’s Godfather Pizza/Jordan Motorsports/CJB Race Car Bodies and Lettering/Xtreme Style Signs and Graphics/Brad Burton Dairy Farms/Shofner Enterprises sponsored #17j Lightning Chassis with a Frank Ofria Race Engine.  Adams would claim second, with Jimmy Robinson rolling to a third place finish.  Blake Brown and Dennis Roberson completed the top five.  The remainder of the top ten would be Kevin Harkins, Ben Petrey, Stevie Tipton, Zach Powers, and Jimmy Crabtree.  Robinson would be the top qualifier among twenty entries at 16.251 seconds, while Watson and Adams were the heat race winners.

Cole Bland would survive an opening lap tangle to come back and win his third straight Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclone division in his Wilson Plumbing/Kent Bland Logging/Win Smith Enterprises/Nolley Auto Sales sponsored #0   The rest of the finishing order would be Jason Bell, Josh Dickerson, and Scott Crusenberry.  Bland would also be the heat race winner.
